On our trip, Hannah took some great pictures of the kids. I wish I had been a little more organized and I would have had her do an entire photo shoot. She is a great photographer and I am so bad about keeping up with my kids ever changing looks. Poor Nate hardly has any pictures for the first 6 months of his life and I'm pretty sure I have 2 albums full of James. Isn't that the way it goes for a 2nd child!?!
What would be great is if Hannah could come to Nashville about every three months and just follow me and kids around for a "day in the life" photo shoot. I'm telling you she could make some good money with her skills! :)

Life is good! Not always easy but I feel so blessed to have two wonderful kids, a completely incredible and totally unselfish husband and an incredible group of family and friends. Seriously I have never eaten so good in my life! Folks are bringing meals over like crazy and it's been such a blessing not to have to worry about cooking or going to the grocery store. Jim's company even had their chef make us some meals. I'm talking prime rib, folks. Oh so good!
Jim was on vacation last week and this week he's been working from home. On Monday he goes back to work (well for 3 days at least since next week is Thanksgiving - can you believe it's already here??) The past few days I've been practicing getting both boys up and fed by myself while Jim sleeps a bit so I can get into the groove. It's gone pretty well. James is a pretty smart kid and tries to take advantage of me when I'm distracted with baby so I have to be on my toes. But he's starting to get the picture that just because Nate is here doesn't mean that it's a free-for-all. He's really taken to Nate. He's very sweet and gives him kisses. And today when James left to go to his grandma's he made sure to come into the living room where Nate was in his swing and tell him "bye" with his typical little Southern twang. It was very cute!
I'm pretty much tired all the time but after a few days you just get used to it. I remember this all too well with James. Nate is already a good eater and sleeper so I have high hopes of getting maybe 6 - 7 consecutive hours each night by the time he's a month old.
So that's my update. Here's a few pictures. I have to remind myself to take pictures. I don't want to be one of those parents who has albums full of pictures for the first child and then number two gets nothing!
